▷Antani, the historic syrah by La Tognazza Amata.
? ANTANI BY LA TOGNAZZA
✨A winery, a personal project, a family history, a philosophy of life, a know-how… that made us fall in love. ?
? Roma, Laziale Wine
For those who arrive in Rome for the first time, it is surprising when they talk to you about their “lazial” wines (we have always known or heard about Tuscan wines, those of Piemonte, Lambrusco in Spain…), when they talk to you about vineyards in an area of volcanic origin, the proximity to a lake where Pope Juan Pablo II bathed and walked and spent the summer… and that all this happens a few kilometres from the capital, in a south-east direction.
It is obvious, the adventurers, the curious, the lovers “hidden places” decide to want to know it, to see it in first person.
? Next Destination: Velletri
You arrive in a village called Velletri, you choose a small “osteria” run by a lady who is closing her place, and as a good Roman hostess, reminds you of the Italian “vera mamma” that we have all seen once in an Italian film. And that lady decides to cook for you a plate of pasta “al volo” and accompanies you with a good wine.
As a cinematographic start to any story, it’s fantastic. But if you add to that the wine they serve you is a wine that the master’s third son, the famous actor Ugo Tognazzi, Gian Marco Tognazzi, has decided to reborn and adapt it to “now”, the stage is round, like his wine.
La Tognazza Amata 2.0
Gian Marco started a project to give new life to “La Tognazza Amata” some years ago and turn this winery into a reference for those who love know-how, harmony, rhythm and the passing of time. This “slow fire” as in the old dinners organized by Papa Ugo. When in the seventies they prepared a film and met and sat down around a table to eat well, and drink better, together with producers, actors and directors… time passed and everything improved, great projects were closed.
Gian Marco wanted to revive the winery but with a new marketing design that would create version 2.0 of the Tognazza, a renaissance readapted to new technologies, to a new aesthetic. As a member of the Tognazzi family and therefore good aesthete, he has achieved it and how.
Labels that tell with passion the story of each wine, of new vineyards and those that have become protagonists again as they were in their time, and with super style and elegance, each label of each wine is an episode within the great script captained by the new master Tognazzi, Gian Marco.
? Antani and its Tasting Notes
We tried Antani, a cuvé mostly of Syrah grape along with Sangiovese, with a round balance, we fell in love.
A wine that is quite a Mr. Syrah, balanced and interesting.
Ruby red color, spicy flavor and red fruits, vanilla and black pepper.
Warm, elegant, enveloping in the mouth and with a taste of red fruits that lead you to a soft tannin, friendly, with good body.
Some fruity notes on the nose that perfume but do not invade.
The historic Syrah de la Tognazza Amata is, in synthesis, elegant, balanced wine with a personality that conquers.
