In Asturias, in El Franco, near the border with Galicia, we find the beach of Porcía. Not very busy coasts in summer, which hide almost virgin beach, as is the case. Descending a slope, we find the way to this beach that opens to the Cantabrian Sea.
At the top of the slope, you will find the bar Menos Mal. A small bar, but that is much more than a beach bar. Elaborated and abundant of its dishes, which is also located in an idyllic place. The bar is wooden, small, located on a prairie on the slope of the coast that descends. With just 4 interior tables, the terrace is the one that accommodates most people. The tables are of pallets, accentuating the laid-back mood.
Booking is almost obliged in summer. There are many who come to this relaxed place, natural decoration, recycling woods and barrels, with an informal look but care. On the outside, you can not make reservations, but there is constant movement. Since while you are dining, you are enjoying the first line of the coast, and its natural environment in the moonlight, after a great day at the beach.
There is no fixed menu, as the dishes change and are updated on a blackboard. It is recommended to take a picture with your mobile and choose the menu. It is a short list with local dishes (cheese with anchovies, carpaccio, lots of fish and shellfish) and some more exotic as the pad Thai. The bartenders are very attentive and the food fresh and original. We recommend cod, squid, octopus with “fabes” and prawns. Good value for money. It is not surprising the very good opinions they have on Tripadvisor, as well as the Certificate of Excellence given. Is the best option to eat and dine in the near area. An interesting, different proposal that is well worth a visit.
