#Talking
1. CREATIVIDAD. What have you done to keep it active?
There are many paths: music, cinema, art… but definitely the most profitable way to stimulate creativity is to travel. The farther and more exotic the place, the better. Discovering new cultures and traditions opens your mind and inspires you 5 times more than sitting in front of a paper.
2. YOUR BASICS. The songs, books, or phrases that have accompanied or inspired you?
Phew… how hard to choose! I guess if I had to choose a music/artist right now it would be the jazz of Miles Davis or the blues of Muddy Waters.
As a book, if we talk about inspiration, without a doubt “The Tibetan Book of Life and Death” although to break the transcendence a little I’ll keep a very revealing phrase from Charles Bukowsy that goes something like this: “Nothing happens to Mondays, it’s your life that sucks” hahaha… totally agree
3. MALLORCA. When did you choose the island to develop and launch your project? Were any new designs born during this confinement? What inspired you?
Mallorca was not a choice. No matter how much we have traveled and lived in other places, in the end the roots are always important and we believe that there was no better place to start “something” than our home.
On the other hand, decades ago Mallorca was a continental reference in terms of leatherwork and craftsmanship.
Over the years, industrial globalization and the cheapening of labor in third world countries took over the entire Mallorcan craft “scene”.
Well, that, and at some point, it’s not clear when people stopped caring about the quality of what they buy. Now all that matters is that it is beautiful and cheap. Sad but true.
And the last thing we have designed is some purses and handbags to go with our bags. They are not yet available in our online store, but they will be soon.
4. MARCA. A round name that fits perfectly with our concept ¨Hidden¨. Why this name?
Bon vivant as a name comes up suddenly, like all good ideas.
Being lovers as we are of the old and the tradition, we remember how our grandparents used the term “Bon Vivant” for those people who, without being high class, if they liked good food, good drink, enjoyed good music, art, the beauty of life and other pleasures of good living. That is why we loved to define what we do. A product to live and enjoy. Quality, craftsmanship, different, unique, and not too expensive.
5. BON VIVANT RECOMENDACION. Which Bon Vivant bag do you recommend as a basic for this season?
Well, actually, this one’s easy. With any African “Sabah” model, metallic, or simply leather, you’re sure to get it right. In addition, they are bags easily combined, despite the fact that a priori the opposite feeling for their colors or prints.
✨ Hidden Recommendations of Mallorca
6. HIDDEN TIPS. Your recommendations to enjoy the Mallorca Hidden. Your 3 favourites. Surprise us.
Where to go? Mallorca has many magical hidden places, but surely one of the ones I like the most is the hidden terrace overlooking the valley of Galilea.
What to do? Bathe at sunset in the Cala of Banyalbufar. And if you wear a diving mask, so much the better!
What to see? The most epic place on the island, the lighthouse of Formentor. From there you can see a good part of the coast that surrounds the Tramuntana.
