July is the beginning of the real vacation season and the summer agenda. Beaches, beach clubs, and resorts see an increase in the number of visitors. Parties and special events begin to be organized for “after sun” plans. Many of the beach resorts are starting to host night markets where you can browse for souvenirs and handicrafts. Art Palma Summer
New agenda of contemporary art exhibitions that mark the art proposal of the galleries of Palma for this summer.
Deià International Music Festival
Founded in 1978 by Patrick Meadows, the Deià International Music Festival is one of the most important classical music festivals in Europe.
Most of the concerts are chamber music concerts, although other genres such as jazz, flamenco, or sounds of the world are also programmed, from the perspective of classical music.
The shows alternate between three different stages: the church of Deià, the Son Marroig estate, and the Monestir de Miramar. The latter two, both declared Cultural Interest.
Bellver Castle Music Festival, Palma
Every summer, the city of Palma organizes the Bellver Castle Music Festival in the incomparable setting of the round courtyard of Bellver Castle.
Port Adriano Festival
The Port Adriano music concerts are back in July and August, with concerts by The Dire Straits Experience, Kool & the Gang, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Hombres G and FSO Big Bang. Summer nights of good music by the sea.
Artdemossa Fair, Valldemossa
Artdemossa is part of the summer festivities of this village in the Mallorcan Tramuntana that dresses up at night with a very special charm. The Valldemossa night art fair, which is held every year in the second half of July.
Actuaciones musicales, muestras de artesanos, pintura, escultura, fotografía, danza y, por supuesto, multitud de puestos de comida y bebida.
Patron Saint’s Day, Pollença
The cannon shots, fireworks, and bell tolls mark the beginning of the festival that will last until early August and will end with the mock battle between Moors and Christians in the town of Pollença.
AUGUST EVENTS IN MALLORCA
Sailing Regatta Copa del Rey, Palma
A first-class event in the world’s nautical calendar where the most prestigious boats and crews gather every year in the bay of Palma.
The King’s Cup is more than just a regatta, it is the competition that represents the best international showcase for the most fashionable island in the Mediterranean, one of the most anticipated events of the Mallorcan summer!
Sa Pobla Jazz Festival
One of the smallest towns in Mallorca has attracted jazz legends from all over to this event for 25 years. A showcase of styles from the world of jazz through concerts, seminars, literature; and all free of charge.
Pollença Music Festival
Since 1961 the International Classical Music Festival has been held in the beautiful Cloister of Santo Domingo. This event is internationally known in the classical music festival circuit and is part of the European Festival Association.
The Pollença Festival returns to its origins, abandoning the literature and cinema of previous editions to focus on the broadest sense of classical music, giving room for approaches to jazz, electronic music, twentieth-century compositions and revisions of classics for children’s audiences. The program includes outstanding orchestras and well-known soloists, choirs, and opera singers.
Chopin Classical Music Festival, Valldemossa
This classical music festival dates back to the 1930s. Throughout the month of August a series of concerts are held every Sunday in the picturesque town of Valldemossa.
Open air cinema screenings, Palma
The Parc de la Mar in Palma becomes a large open-air cinema next to the Mediterranean Sea, with the cathedral as the perfect backdrop. The program includes films in English and all free of charge.
