Speakeasy or Secrets places
Known as “Secrets Places” by the Americans or “Speakeasy“, the clandestine bars were born in the time of the Dry Law and prohibition… Where access was only allowed to those who had the word or key of entry.
In the heart of Palma, near the Paseo de las Ramblas, Avenida Jaime III and Plaza Juan Carlos I, in a small typical Mallorcan street, is hidden in the street, the cocktail bar “par excellence” of the moment, Door 13.
No flashy neon, no more goalkeeper on the door, nor a large glass that catches your attention, because they should continue to be the “speakeasy“, difficult to find, not accessible to the great mass: if you want to get there, you will get the way.
The ambience
The door opens only to those who really know the entry code or have managed to book their own table. All the rest, you will not be welcome. The interior of easy atmosphere, type “Great Gatsby”: sofas, armchairs, mirror-dressing table, portraits for sale, sculptures, low ceilings, bartender dressed in suspenders, a friendly and helpful waitress and a wide menu of wonderful cocktails.
