✅ Two Alchemists. Kate and Katja are synonymous with responsibility, and passion for what they do.
▷ In a Snapshot
They love Mallorca and its nature. The Sierra de Tramuntana is their great passion and they know how to value it. They are committed to sustainable living and that is why they have chosen the olive tree as the protagonist of their project.
They renew and turn the remains of the pruning leaves of the olive trees into culinary products. A treasure, 100% “Made in Mallorca”
A carefully designed project where there is a lot of passion, hours of work and care in every detail. That is why the selected olive trees have not been other than those found in the historical property Son Moragues, an outdoor space, considered one of the most fertile lands of Mallorca, former residence of Archduke Lluis Salvador.
The result, pure magic of alchemy with an accentuated Balearic touch in its products.
#TALKING
We are happy to talk to Katja, one of the founders and creators of Dos Alquemistas who tells us about their project, how they have lived this confinement, and their recommendations to live a 100% hidden experience in Mallorca.
1.CARE. A project and products made with conscience and a lot of love. How did the idea come up?
The idea came to my friend and partner, Kate John. Walking between Sóller and Deià, she saw a farmer pruning the olive trees… and it was a moment of revelation. We saw the potential of recovering the olive leaves, saving them from burning, creating with this Up-cycle, a circular economy, and at the same time reduce the CO2 emission.
2. PLAYLIST. The songs that have accompanied you in this quarantine .
We have been fortunate to be able to continue harvesting while there was pruning during the weeks of confinement.
We were always accompanied by the sound of the wind inside the crowns of the olive trees and the singing of the birds. We felt very lucky.
In the workshop, creating and packaging, we are accompanied by the sound of Sebastian Gamboa, his vintage music from Ibiza always gives us encouragement and dynamism.
3. CREATIVITY. How have you kept it active these days?
We’ve had good times playing with our favorite island ingredients, exploring flavors and textures, thinking up and creating new recipes.
4. TALENTO. Infusions, power food… What’s next? Are you working on any new products?
We have a small list of creations that we want to elaborate and put on the market, little by little. We hope to launch soon a “to-go” drink, refreshing, nutritious, and 100% from the island.
5. DOS ALQUEMISTAS RECOMENDATION. What product would you recommend for this season?
Now that the warmer days are beginning with the longer nights, there is a great desire to drink something cold. We recommend our teas prepared as Cold Brew, adding some fresh citrus juice & honey.
And for the aperitif at sunset, a Tea-Cocktail with the Cold Brew “Mar”, lime juice, honey, and the Gin EVA “La Mallorquina”, delicious!
✨ Hidden Tips
Katja recommends us her favorites for a real Mallorcan experience and to enjoy the real Hidden Mallorca. Where to go, what to do and what to see. Don’t miss them.
–Must to do: One of the routes on foot that we like the most is the way from the Mirador de Ses Barques in Fornalutx to Cala Tuent, eating paella in Cala Tuent and returning on board a sailing boat to Port de Soller towards the sunset with a beer in hand. Pure Bliss!
–Must Go to: It is essential when one comes to visit our island, to discover the Mallorcan cuisine, to visit a Petit Celler, who takes care of the native and recovered grapes, elaborating singular wines, with the signature and seal of our land.
For us, our reference restaurant for Mallorcan cuisine with the extra “Twist”, is the Ca Na Toneta in Caimari.

Must See: The sunrise from Puig de Galatzo.
